Let it Be Sacred
Oct 05, 2024How often do you stop what you are doing to choose a sacred moment?
Do you notice when you are simply in the present moment? I think we know it is important, even urgent, to spend time there. “Spend” is a funny word for that. I prefer invest.
We all have a grasp or perhaps even a felt experience of what is beyond the noise.
But I want us to ask ourselves, are we creating the space to experience it?
Are we recognizing the power that is available to us beyond our minds.
The guidance.
I heard a master teacher say this week that trying to teach people what it’s like to truly experience divine energy is a bit like trying to explain to nonparents what it’s like to love a child. You cannot know the profundity of that love until you’re in that experience. If you aren’t a parent, maybe think about explaining a favorite song to someone who cannot hear.
We get hints of it. A moment in meditation, or when we feel deep love for our partner or a child. Today as I was thinking about writing this piece it felt like the sunrise went on forever, just for me. Time stretched out.
The present moment is where it all happens, said Eckhart Tolle. In choosing that moment and cultivating equanimity within it, we ask time to move through us. We bring all we want toward us, toward where we are. That is a lovely manifestation hack. Being in the moment and letting time move things toward us. Connecting with all that is to bring in all we desire, with the Universe’s sprinkle of magic.
In a story from one of my favorite books, The Big Leap, the author finds himself experiencing a difficult emotion, triggered by a message from a relative. He sits still. He asks himself, what new energy or idea wants to come in here? He waits. The message arrives, and it is nothing he could have predicted.
And everything he needs.
This weekend, create a moment for yourself. And when you do, put your hand on your heart and ask it–what does it want to tell you? Then wait.
Your next level might be calling. If it is, lean into that call.
